Biography
Mairzee Almas lives in Vancouver, Canada. Her early training included graduating from the Vancouver Film School Foundation Film Program in 1993 and a two-year actor training program at The F.T.S. Performing Arts Conservatory in Vancouver in 1990.[1]
Almaas spent the majority of her early career working as a second unit or assistant director. Her first job was as second assistant director for the straight-to-video 1996 action-drama Bounty Hunters. Throughout most of the nineties and early two thousands, she worked on a series of slightly obscure movies and TV shows; one major exception was the 2000 action film Reindeer Games starring Ben Affleck, Gary Sinise and Charlize Theron, on which Almaas served as first assistant director. She also worked on the Canadian coroner crime-mystery series Da Vinci's Inquest for five years, serving as first assistant director of 31 episodes.[2]
In 2003, Almaas joined the crew of the American television series Smallville, where she served as first assistant director on 62 episodes, before she went on to direct nine episodes herself.[2] She earned a "Best Direction" nomination f

Mairzee Almas is an award winning director and producer.
Her latest directing efforts include, THE RATS, an upcoming Netflix project, taking place within the WITCHER universe as well as two episodes of MONARCH: LEGACY OF MONSTERS starring Kurt Russell for Apple Plus.
Mairzee’s directing credits include THE SANDMAN, SHADOW AND BONE, KALEIDOSCOPE, Y THE LAST MAN, LOCKE AND KEY, OUTLANDER, JESSICA JONES and many, many other episodes of premium television. She also served as the Co-Executive Producer/Director for the second season of IMPULSE.
Mairzee first trained as a theater actor, but found her love of film and passion for directing led her to the Vancouver Film school’s Foundation Film Program.
Mairzee rose up within the Vancouver Film Industry to become a sought after First AD, working on numerous film and television projects before her first directing opportunities came with episodes of SMALLVILLE and DAVINCI’S INQUEST.
Mairzee’s directing work encompasses SVOD, Cable and Network outlets. She lives in Vancouver and works all around the world.
